Error Message When Uploading Documents Using our Document Center.

1. Turn off Vista's UAC feature

If you receive an error message, when trying to upload documents using our Document Center, using a Windows Vista PC... it may Vista's User Account Control causing the problem.  To find out, turn this feature off, temporarily, as see if it eliminates the problem.  Here's how to do that:

  1. Click the Start Menu then click Control Panel.

  1. Select Control Panel Home at the top left of your display:

  1. Enter the letters UAC into the search box in the upper right hand corner of your display

  1. You will see a link labeled, "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off:

  2. Click the link

  3. Make sure that UAC is off

  4. Reboot your system

  5. Log back into your room as a moderator

Second set of instructions:

  1. Enter the conference room as an administrator.

  2. Click on the Administration Menu, then click on Document Center:

  1. The Document Center dialog box will open.  Click on the Replay Archive button.

  1. You will then see the following Replay Archive dialog box:

  1. Click in the check box before "This is a Vista machine if it is not already checked.  Depending on your system configuration you may see several dialog boxes with numbers and be asked to select the microphone you are using.  All Vista machines will not display all of these dialog boxes and messages.

  2. Click the Exit button

2. Other Causes

  • You may be trying to upload a document located on a network drive.  Security and firewall settings of some organizations may  prevent you from doing this. Please see your system administrator.

  • You may need Administrator privileges from your organization to do this. Please see your system administrator.

  • Your firewall may be preventing you from uploading documents to servers outside of your network.  Many organizations do this for security reasons. Please see your system administrator.
