Important Guidelines for IDEAL Conference® Recorders
Last Updated: October 1, 2010

Word Version of These Guidelines

(Not in any particular order)

Never push your talk key when doing a recording as it may cause the audio portion of your recording to become out-of-sync with the slides being pushed out to the participants

Always use a hard-wired connection to the Internet.  Do not use a wireless card/wireless router or Air Card connection.  The slower connect speeds (yes, wireless speeds are slower than you think) using these methods can cause lapses in your audio.

Have more than one person record a session in case one of the PCs being used to do the recording runs into problems.

Make sure that you do not accidentally click the "Pause Recording" menu selection under the "Recording Menu" for obvious reasons.

Plan for whoever is changing the slides to press their F2 key several times immediately after you begin recording. Doing this synchronizes the slides with the audio of your recording.

Do not have any other applications open on your PC, or do anything else on your PC, while you are recording a session.  The PC being used to record a session needs to be dedicated to that function.

Download and install the IDEAL Conference plug-in each time you enter a room/auditorium.

       Practice, practice, practice.
