How to Turn the JAWS Progress Bar off in a Conference Room

This means that JAWS will discontinue the constant chatter of percentages.

Temporary Method (must be done each time you enter a conference room):

1. Press insert plus the letter (v).

2. Then press the letter (p) until you hear the words (progress bar).

3. Finally, press the space bar to turn the progress bar off.

Permanent Method (Only needs to be done one time):

1. Enter the room in which you want the JAWS Progress Bar disabled.

2. Press Insert+F2, and the Jaws manager list will open.

3. Press Enter on the configuration manager.

4. Press Alt+S to open the settings menu.

5. Press enter on user options, and you will come in on progress bar report every 5 seconds.

6. Up arrow to off, and press the enter key.

7. Press Ctrl+S to save the changes.

8. Press Alt+F4 to exit the manager.

The progress bar announcements should be gone.  If not, exit the room and re-enter it so the changes you made to the JCF file will be loaded.
