TeamViewer Remote Desktop Sharing, Remote Access and Support

 

For those users of IDEAL Conference wishing to establish highly-quality 1:1 desktop-sharing sessions with individuals with disabilities, while simultaneously taking advantage of the accessibility features of our fully-accessible system, we suggest using TeamViewer.

Important notes:

  • In order to legally use the free version of TeamViewer, you may not charge anyone for the use of TeamViewer or in any manner make money from the use of TeamViewer. 

  • IDEAL Group respects these license limitations. We ask that you do the same.

  • If you wish to use TeamViewer for commercial purposes we suggest purchasing a one-time commercial license.

 

From IDEAL Group's perspective, the free version of TeamViewer should only be used in support of providing totally free technical support, mentoring, tutoring and other remote services to individuals with disabilities who need those services to enhance their quality of life, independence, educatability and employability.

 

Installing TeamViewer:

  1. Click the following link: TeamViewer Download.

  2. The following Security Warning dialog box will display:

         

  1. Click the Run button.  The following Security Warning will display:

         

  1. Click the Run Button. The following TeamViewer 4 Setup dialog box will appear:

  

  1. Select the Run radio button and click the Next button. The following License Agreement will appear:

  

  1. Read the agreement, click the "I accept the terms in the License Agreement: check box, and then click the Next button.  The following Team Viewer Dialog box will appear... and you are ready to connect to another computer or enable a technical support person to connect to your PC:

   

 

To make the connection:

  1. Start TeamViewer on your computer. If you followed the steps above you have already done this.

  2. Ask your partner to start TeamViewer or TeamViewer QuickSupport.

  3. Ask your partner for his ID and the session password (both displayed on his TeamViewer).

  4. Enter the Partner ID in the ID field in the Create session section.

  5. Choose your connection mode:

  • Remote support: Enables Desktop Sharing and Remote Control.

  • Presentation: Shows your desktop to your partner.

  • File transfer: Starts the file transfer window (you can also start a file transfer later in Remote support mode).

  • VPN: Establishes a VPN connection to the desired computer.

  1. Click on Connect to Partner. The TeamViewer Authentication dialog opens.

        

  1. Enter the session password. You are connected to your partner’s computer.
