Why do people in the room hear a clicking sound on my microphone when I speak?  How can I get rid of the clicks?

Also, it's possible that problem is your PC's sound card.  As prices for PCs and laptops decline, so does the quality of the components being used to build them... including sound cards.  Many sound cards included with PC and laptops are not equipped to handle Windows event sounds at the same time the microphone is being used.  If this is the case other sounds being generated by Windows will be injected into the audio of your microphone as clicks. 

To try and resolve this problem as easily as possible (may not work in all instances... but worth a try) please do the following:

1. Insure that no other applications are open or running on the PC you are using your microphone on;

2. Disable all sound effects in the room you are presenting in by clicking on the "Actions" menu and then selecting "Disable all Sound Effects."  See image below;

If you are using Windows XP system:

1. Click on your "Start Menu";

2. Click on "Control Panel;"

3. Double-click on the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon;

4. Click on the "Sounds" tab;

5. Click the down-arrow on the right side of the "Sound Scheme" drop-down list box;

6. Select "No Sounds;"

7. Click Apply at the bottom of the dialog box;

If you are using a Windows Vista system:

1. Click on your "Start Menu";

2. Click on "Control Panel;"

3. Click on "Classic View;"

4. Click on "Sound." Vista's "Sound" dialog box will appear.

5. Click on the "Sounds" tab, under "Sound scheme."

6. Select "No Sounds."

7. Click "Apply."

8. Click "OK." See image below.
